Biennale: Artist Film and Video

Kristín Helga Káradóttir

22. March - 3. April 2005

Artist's Talk:
Saturday, 2. April um 18 uhr

Finissage:
Sunday 3. April um 19 uhr

Karadottir engages with video, site-specific installation and performative practice as a response to the psychic dimension of institutional spaces.

For this installation, the artist has chosen to exhibit her work in the intermediate zones of the lab. On one end of the entrance hallway the work An Installation (2002) is screened as a digital "slide" projection.

The artist writes, "The image is frozen and lifeless. Time has been brought to a grinding halt. The environment is institution-like, colorless and empty with extremely bright light. The body is of a person who has lost her identity and has merged with the environment in order to hide from the world."
