Although it could be argued that members of the lab would rather devote their labor towards activism, education, research, advocacy, and art production rather than economic concerns, let alone facility upkeep, the difficulties the lab faces are certainly symptomatic of more pervasive problems within the German funding structure.

To this end, this exhibition seeks to give representation to the harrowing effects of at once being out of place, out of sync with the everyday flows of global circulation and dispersion and the anxiety that such expatriation brings to bear on modern subjectivity.

It seeks to capture those initial insecure moments of touching down in dangerous, unknown waters, and once peering around, reveling in it, and eventually bringing others into the fold.
